Cyantific – Time Flies Mix – Part One 02/2010

Cyantific

info: hospitalrecords.com/artists/cyantific

“Time flies when you’re having fun, or so they say. I wanted to do a mix which is a snapshot of some of the D+B that I’ve really loved over the last decade. 2 parts in 2 hours, year by year. That’s about 5-8 tunes a year. It took ages just to get a vague idea of what I wanted on there. Then organising it by year, and working out what would work where. So many amazing tunes didn’t make it just for that reason. It’s not meant to be me going ‘this is the best music D+B had to offer’ its just a mix of some of my personal favourites. I hope you enjoy it.”

Cyantific is a madman on the decks. This mix is a crazy, fast paced journey through the years with lots of classics and big tunes of each era from 2000 to 2004.

I’m not sure about the tracklisting years- I know messiah wasn’t out until 2005. not that it matters- this is a relentlessly intense mix, really enjoying it. thanks cy!

Messiah might have been released in ‘05, but I remember hearing that track drop back in ‘00 during the Syrous era in Toronto. Talk about nostalgia…

    Sick mix

Messiah was on Renegade Hardware’s Essential Rewindz LP which came out in 2000.

Messiah was ORIGINALLY released on the Essential Rewindz LP on Renegade Hardware 10 years ago.

I started mixing in 2000 so this mix is massively nostalgic for me too – no-one will believe me but I did that Redlight / Reincarnation Dub mix back in 2004, the melodies harmonise beautifully. Big up Cyantific, I still have the “Journey Through Innerspace” from DOA on regular rotation. Pi
