Aaron Jay – DUB Promo Mix 07/2009

Aarony Jay

info: myspace.com/djaaronjay

Aaron Jay is back with a ton of unreleased goodness, a sneak peak at the forthcoming Influence Records LP and a couple of golden oldies thrown in the mix. All vibes from nice and warm to dark and dangerous. The always rolling selection makes you wanna dance and qualifies this as a nice mixtape for the summerish and sticky hot days. Highly recommended.

No Tracklist atm.

A contest of who can cry for most dubplates from producers which Aaron Jay is absolutely winning. Good job on that Mr.

  2. adam, July 15, 2009 at 11:54

@ inspector rubber …I only just learnt the meaning of this word today but it sums your comment up -

Trolling: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or collaborative content community with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.
    ….
Im sure AJ doesnt even have to ask for the tunes seeing he is running his own label and is a well established DJ. Nice mix..really feeling that Mr Joseph thing at the 20 min mark and the Eveson bit early on…Thanks.

  3. pikmik, July 15, 2009 at 12:54

do i sence a hint of a jealousy in your comment inspector?

i for one would like to big up aaron for the numerous mixes he has done. i’ve found tons of new producers & tunes through them. only downside is the long wait for the tunes to get released :) hope the influence lp drops soon.

Congratulations Adam on learning a new word.
I just want to say that I have my reliable sources of this kind of information I posted.

Really… How do you figure that when I get over 200 sent to mr a month without asking?

  6. Random Listener, July 15, 2009 at 17:34

I hear ya inspector, but cant say these mixes suck.Dubplate “biznizz” kinda sucks yeah ,but where else you hear these??(ok ,some parties maybe but..)ps. the earlier A.J mixes were better imo,too much glitch shit nowdays included to d&b,its quite far from d&b..but yeah good summer to y’all.

  7. Random Listener, July 15, 2009 at 17:37

as i was talkin about dubplates…i ment the ones that never come out…

  8. Tim, July 15, 2009 at 17:48

  10. Tim, July 15, 2009 at 18:30

OMG every Aaron Jay Mixset Thread here is developing in a dubplate discussion. -.-*

This is so lame… I mean, I’m just glad that AJ supplies us with the newest cutting edge stuff, you’d otherwise only hear on very very few gigs. Because we’re not talking about some mainstream shit here!

Dubplate business is just the nature of DnB. It always had been that way and always will be. FACT. Get f***ing used to it, guys.

Of course, I also hate it when I hear good tunes, and it is not clear wether they’ll be released at all. But the more you crave to get a track in your hands, the bigger is your delight, when you finally make it. :-)

Good example for me is Calibre’s track “Tanner”. Dunno if you know it, but Bukem spinned it a lot around 2006. Was waiting for it till then, and already feared it would rot forever in Bukems closet. But yet it finally came out, and it’s just great to own a bomb tune most people already forgot about.

Sorry for the rant but this just had to be said. :-D
–> Now tuning in into the set. Feedback will follow soon. =)

    Doc

  16. coldstoned, July 16, 2009 at 04:55

Let the beats do the talking…

  17. nugen, July 16, 2009 at 09:05

¨Dubplate business is just the nature of DnB¨. I like it.

  18. soulTec, July 16, 2009 at 11:05

People moaning about this sort of thing is like brits and the weather.

if this set was all old released tunes people would moan, if its all dubs people moan. If the guy has lots of dubs then he’s going to want to play them. Its not his fault if they don’t get signed and released.

I thought this mix was a good balance of fresh and slightly older. For example was delighted to hear good old Golden Girl being mixed in.

there are certain people that get by on dubs but shit mixing but thats not the case here.

    Nice mix.

  20. Squash, July 16, 2009 at 13:51

aaron likes to push new music, but i do think these things work better with out tracklists. all about the music and doesn’t leave people waiting for ages!

  21. Dave Shichman, July 16, 2009 at 18:34

Another quality mix from Aaron! Much respect!

  22. Doc Boy, July 16, 2009 at 21:09

    Yeah, back to give feedback^^

I’ve seen better sets by Aaron, especially the last Podcast. Nevertheless there are some great tunes in it, and a Tracklist would be nice! =)

    Big Ups, AJ!

    Doc

  23. pruvn v, July 17, 2009 at 00:29

….and the states continue to say “keep it comin’ from across the pond”.

Respect to the hard-working AJ and his passion to do this day in and day out.

BB.biz is a gem in and of itself…I love to bump the dubs from AJ’s mix for a bit and watch the question marks set in over the noggins. It’s a vastly different outlook from here, be grateful that it’s so ingrained in populus there, you chaps have got it good, dubs or no dubs.

  24. nugen, July 17, 2009 at 03:54

[00:00] BCee – Glitter Balls (Redeyes & Lenzman remix) [Future Retro]
[38:00] MC Conrad & Makoto – Golden Girl (full vocal mix) [Good Looking]
    [50:00] F*cking good track!

  25. Doc Boy, July 17, 2009 at 04:47

the track at minute 50 is a Calibre dub called “Pop”. release label still unclear.

  26. soul intent, July 17, 2009 at 10:10

thanks for the mix aaron, it’s very kind for you to keep providing people with free and new music.

    53 minutes “step within”…

  34. MikeP, July 18, 2009 at 10:22

Wouldn’t it be better if the comments were disabled and only the track listing was published? Ok, you wouldn’t get any feedback on the mixes but it seems to me that with every set uploaded, regardless of DJ, it turns into a heated argument. I for one just want to enjoy the music.

  35. Rents, July 18, 2009 at 19:34

    Cheers Aaron

  36. LogicOps, July 18, 2009 at 21:21

heated arguments are not necessarily a bad thing… and there have been loads of healthy discussions and very informative threads on here

  37. Rents, July 19, 2009 at 01:30

agreed. I’ve only encountered a few isolated immature remarks over the time this blog has been here.

They tend to be cry babies throwing toys out of the pram over the music branching out and changing or the ‘how dare you have dubs!’ freakout.

It’s free music. You just can’t please everyone.

Top blog and most of the people on here appear to be sound and rational.

  38. AMPLIFIER, July 19, 2009 at 06:11

    Nice one cheers

“Wouldn’t it be better if the comments were disabled and only the track listing was published? ”

Er – don’t read the comments?

I think a bit of healthy discussion is good personally – Good mix – bit of standard roller mix though IMO….

  42. ?, July 20, 2009 at 13:09

“bit of standard roller mix though IMO….” Take this comment back – listened to it again and it’s definitely a grower :) My favourites…

  43. jeri, July 20, 2009 at 14:59

good mix as always, gief playlist.

  44. krq, July 20, 2009 at 17:05

shall we wait for t/l or this subject is already closed?
some tunes are really sick and I would prefer to know who made them

Glen E Ston – One life (Decem remix) SIIIIIIIIICKKKK

  45. krq, July 20, 2009 at 17:11

can anyone please tell me if one day eventually, apple fingers by L.I.S. will release or not

  50. Anonymous, July 27, 2009 at 15:10

Slightly more grimier than the usual Aaron Jay mixes but still very good. Has anyone managed to put together at TL as there are a few tunes id love to know what they are???

  51. Dan Mo, July 29, 2009 at 20:41

whats the piece coming in at 24mins? before Glen E Ston…that’s sinister shit.

dubplates – yeah, they’re good introductions to new tunes and it is annoying when you can’t find them for months/years – but that’s the point, you gotta get yourself noticed, link up, do the work, DIY whatever.

if you want to complain, fine – but why bother unless you’re purposefully being confrontational which is old news?!

  52. Mr Littler, August 4, 2009 at 12:06

Amazing mix up, always a handful of massive tunes, i would personally buy Mr Jay a pint if i met him……….massive tune at 50 and the mix into last tune is tremendous.
    Anyone know the last tune…………….?

  53. Magda O!, September 30, 2009 at 01:02

Just re-discovered the Jan 2009 mix & then I found this.

Thank you so much. It makes me feel like everything’s alright.

  54. coldstoned, October 11, 2009 at 02:24

    Where is Aaron Jay?

  55. sir twig, October 14, 2009 at 11:05

    where is the track listing? been so many demands for it – i understand that the whole DUBs thing is an issue, but I would feel pretty raped if one of my tunes was getting praise and no one knew what it was. I live off the names dropped by breaksblog and resident advisor and all good free music sites. be grateful init… {all been said before but theres my 2pence}

to be honest, i’m glad most ppl are so willing to put forward intelligent remarks, instead of the “fuk you fassyo raasclaaatt, man gna get mercup ” attitude i witnessed on dnb arena…. bloody kids

  56. zdzichoo, October 20, 2009 at 16:10

    last tune is incredible! AMAZING!
