Mixing is the best way to blow off steam when you’ve had a rough day, and it helps when you have been given a heap of great new tunes from some very talented artists! Hope you guys dig this one… next month we celebrate 2 years of Random Movement Podcasts with a special free track on the site to download, as well as a very special mix, big surprise on this one, so look out!
Random Movement rolling it out – all styles, all flavours.
In celebration of Human Elements 5th Anniversary, boss-man Makoto is giving away this fun-packed, tightly mixed rollout of high-quality dancefloor-friendly drum and bass for our enjoyment. There are four more mixes up for grabs by Velocity, J.Z.T, Lowply and Heavy 1 over at the Human Elements Blog. Watch out for Makotos new album “Souled Out” set to launch in October 2011.
“Kool Beans” – Big Buds 6th Studio Album is out in the shops now and proves to be both versatile and excellent. Maybe his best work since GLO days. Both the Mix and the Album feature dub, soul and funk dripping beats from 140 to 175 BPM. Head over to KMag for the Interview.
This is my first mix for a long, long time, but will be the first of many coming up over the summer months! Enjoy the music!
Jrumhand is one of those new guys that roll out the timeless and jazzy drum and bass rollers. His debut album is out on Textures Music Group with plenty more already out aswell as forthcoming on such labels as Telluric, SDR and GLO(L). Simply great music that works both on the dancefloor and at home. Check out his Artist Profile on Soul Deep Recordings. Get on this.
Here’s my set from Rupture last week … tunes from Sinistar, Jubei, Double O, Gremlinz, Nolige, Rumbleton, Skitty …
A big smile, tight mixing and heavyweight selection – this is Mantra live at Rupture, Cursica Studios, London. Dubwise amen pressure and beyond alongside the charismatic Double O and Fuzz on MC duties. The vibes are here but if you don’t like yelling MC’s you will be better off grabbing her only 2 weeks old promotional studio mix.
Half a year old but easily the recording that got me the most exited and goosebumpified so far this year. Africa HiTech (Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek) roll out an amazing selection of Music from Soul, Funk and HipHop to Juke, Steppers -Dub- step, Grime, Jungle / Drum and Bass – pretty much any subgenre of Bass Music i can think of. Their Debut Album “93 Million Miles” is out now but i dont think i like it as much as these 140 minutes of musical bliss, played live at Deviation, London.
Norbert Sáfár aka Safair, part of Hungary based Production Crew Spinline gets in the mix for Runnin’ Beat Radio Show. Quality Drum and Bass all the way. Contemporary but never dull aesthetics led by synthesis and heavy beats. Lots of tuneage you might not have heard before – Big set!
