Who used to be one of the biggest producers back in the golden days of Platinum Breakz when Goldie gave him the title of being the “Luke Skywalker of Drum and Bass returns to Metalheadz in 2011. J Majiks track reminiscent of the vibe from that era is called “Old Headz” and scheduled for release on what surely is the most prolific label within the genre this year. Check out his heavyweight set and the reaction on his last tune played “Old Headz”.
The second mix is a two hours worth warmup-set by the very talented Mikal who seems to have the tone of his productions quite a bit, a new signing to the Metalheadz camp.
My shouts and thankx and big ups goes to Phil Source – Mr Joseph – Mindmapper – Drum Cypha – Nusense – and Chris Inperspective. And i dedicade this mix to. my love miss splinter and my good friend Ron TnT postman … and my crews. IChiOne, Spread the Bass and Cheeky Monday.
This Mix is 320kbps quality and running time is 74 minutes. Full with old new and exclusives – no talking – just music. Unique styles, flavours and on point mixing. A proper journey in rolling drum and bass. Easily the most fun, versatile mix i heard this year.
What we got here are two different sets recorded on the 29.08.2010 in line of Nookies Atmosphere Night powered by Phuzion Records. dRamatic and dbAudio deliver a warm-up guest mix for Atmosphere Radio hosted by DJ Clart on www.lifefm.co.uk packed with unreleased soulfueled goodness. The second link will take you to a candid recording from the night itself with DJ Furney on the controls alongside MC Fivealive. Vibing Rollers all the way! Many thanks to DJ Soultec via DOA for the Furney recording.
Tim has f**ked off on holidays to the Dutch coast, so I thought I would hi-jack the site and post this one. Calibre, Intalex, Presha and a sunrise set from S.P.Y. recorded live the other evening via Bassdrive from the Soul:ution Session down at Sun & Bass in Sardinia. A vibing party to say the least. Thanks to whoever ripped this for us all. One love. Adam
The Metalheadz clan set out their stall for the third time within Cable’s caverns. This time it’s the turn of Calyx & Teebee who’ll be spinning Back 2 Back, Dillinja, Storm, Flight, Klute and of course the man behind it all – Goldie. Over in the Bar Geeneus & N-Type take control until Randall brings the sounds of the Old School.
DJ Flight again laying down the contemporary beats plus a couple of evergreens from the past alongside two oldschool legend MCs on crowd hyping duties. A brief review of the night is available over at kmag.co.uk.
Way back in May, Goldie’s epochal Metalheadz label and the collective known as A Bunch of Cuts went toe to toe. This is Goldie and Marcus Intalex, live, untouched, unaltered and unadulterated for 90 minutes from that night. A heavyweight, bruising roll-out. And, kind of inevitably, it’s the shit.
Heavyweight tunes by the two and MC Lowqui on hype duties. Stream only as of now. .
The A Bunch of Cuts crew step up and go toe to toe with Goldie’s Metalheadz. All out back to back sets all night long from some of the finest names on the Drum & Bass scene. Stick Goldie, Marcus Intalex, D Bridge, Commix, Krust & Die in a pot, add a sprinkling of Apple Pips and shake vigorously. Could you seriously ask for more? Check this…
Heavyweight, reduced to the max selection and a more than a couple of classics thrown in. Recorded live @ Cable last month – last set of the night from the sounds of it.
