Q&A
Mystic, Would you like to introduce yourself?

I’m Mystic Trip – A young Composer & DJ hailing from London, UK.

Please tell us about your musical background. How did you get into drum and bass?
I’ve been into music as far back as I can remember. Growing up, I used to look through my Mothers record collection…It was fortunate that my parents were collectors…

I actually got into drum and bass accidentally. It was a sunday afternoon in the 90’s, and I was flicking through the FM dial on my little Boombox, when I stopped on a local pirate. The show was called ‘Super Sunday’. I hit record on the little tape deck, and that cassette stayed with me for a good few years…I was hooked!

How would you describe your music?
Mystical!

There are lots of ways you can describe it, but it’s all Drum & Bass. I suppose I try and stay away from the noisy stuff, homing in on the deeper, melodic side of DnB.

Where did your artist name come from?
It was just an idea. I thought it fitted the musical styles I was into.

I used to go by another alias a few years back (I won’t go into that) but it didn’t suit the genre of music I was producing. Lets just say it sounded more like some cheesy Euro Trance DJ name. It had to be changed!

Are there any releases or projects that we should look out for?
There’s loads of stuff happening at the moment. I have some stuff lined up for digital release on Quondam records, as well as a few collaborative tracks that have just been released on Future Thinkin’.

Few more things happening as well so keep an eye out!

Thanks for talking with us, do you have any shoutouts?
It’s been a pleasure. Shoutout to everyone feeling the music! Thanks for the support so far. Hope you like what’s still to come!
