In the Spirit of Caribana (Toronto’s West Indian Carnival), Marcus has put together 45 tracks of Reggae, Dancehall and Dub influenced Jungle. This mix is one hour and 45 minutes long and is chock full of dubplates, specials and V.I.P mixes. You’ll hear tracks from Marcus forthcoming LP entitled ‘Humble‘ out soon on Lion Dub International. Featured artists include: The recently deceased reggae legend Sugar Minott (R.I.P), The Dancehall Godfather Johnny Osbourne, Bunny General, Pad Anthony, Terry Ganzie, Robert Levy, Jah Dan and Messenger Selah.
There is not much serious roots reggae influenced Drum and Bass around and most stuff you can get your hands on are half-arsed bootlegs of famous tunes with sub-par production values. Not so with this mix by Marcus Visionary for channelonestation.com. Proper production and lots of famous singers, reggae/dancehall basslines, soundclash samples, dub sirens and bleeps. Mixing is on point with bassline switches and double drops.

Haven’t checked Breaksblog.biz for a lil while now, like to give it a miss and come back to find some fresh beats.
I agree with the lack of reggae influenced dnb, but the dub influenced material has resurfaced, Genotype, D-Bridge, Nether, Morphy are the choice names for such vibes, not forgetting Bal and the Polish crew, Material and Reza
But vibes that are strictly rub a dub. No a very long time! Looking forward to this mix
