The Metalheadz clan set out their stall for the third time within Cable’s caverns. This time it’s the turn of Calyx & Teebee who’ll be spinning Back 2 Back, Dillinja, Storm, Flight, Klute and of course the man behind it all – Goldie. Over in the Bar Geeneus & N-Type take control until Randall brings the sounds of the Old School.
DJ Flight again laying down the contemporary beats plus a couple of evergreens from the past alongside two oldschool legend MCs on crowd hyping duties. A brief review of the night is available over at kmag.co.uk.
Mr. Curtis Silvahfonk (IChiOne / Cheeky Monday & Spread the Bass Amsterdam) going extra deep in the mix for jungletrain.net. Easily the deepest and dubbiest set i heard all year. Get on this if you are still in search for the perfect soundtrack to this summers heatwaves.
After doing the rounds in the local Melbourne jazz scene, playing sax, ATP sought to make more of his experience with drum’n’bass through DJing and eventually production. Already ATP’s smooth musical stylings have been snapped up with tunes on Liquid Brilliants and further releases on Influenza Media, BIOS, Fokuz, Urban Chemistry, Point 9 Audio, Golden Orb, Rubik and the mighty “Good Looking Records”.
ATP from Melbourne, Australia rolls out the quality soulfueled summervibes for this very site.
Get on this.
The next Installment is here. New bits by Intalex, Alix Perez, Blocks, Escher Jubei, Skeptical, Genotype, ASC, SPY, Abstract Alements, Need For Mirrors, D-Bridge …. Beats and mixing are clean enough to make me think the doc must be a surgeon.
Way back in May, Goldie’s epochal Metalheadz label and the collective known as A Bunch of Cuts went toe to toe. This is Goldie and Marcus Intalex, live, untouched, unaltered and unadulterated for 90 minutes from that night. A heavyweight, bruising roll-out. And, kind of inevitably, it’s the shit.
Heavyweight tunes by the two and MC Lowqui on hype duties. Stream only as of now. .
DJ Blade has tunes forthcoming on Goodlooking, Soundtrax, Think Deep, Phuzion and Jazzsticks. He is also in partners with one7six that will be launched later this year. Watch out for his soon to come release on Telluric Records plus his album that should be out in september this year and goes by the name “Moments That Change Us”.
Anyone who likes soulful jungle, funk drumloops, amen, sampling and bass should be all over this mix. Recommended for hot summer days.
